Vizag 4 u.. a panoramic view of the sea

Location: The Sea (Bay of Bengal), Vizag, AP.
This is an attempt to get a panoramic view of a broad landscape by stitching together individual photos. 12 photos have been used for this and the overlapping edges have been stitched together using Adobe Photoshop CS2.

before.. after

.. after eating

inspired by all the weight-reduction advertisements ;)
btw, there is an excellent food-joint called corn club in Hyderbad and recently in Vizag, which serves all their food items prepared exclusively from corn. Whenever we (friends) meet, this is one place we don't miss. Try it out!

Vizag 4 u.. the Zoo
a peacock.. with a nice little hat
the lion king
a tiger..
there was no fence between the tigers and the visitors!
the tigers were located on a small hill and there was a huge pit dug around it; the tigers won't be able to come out but if someone falls in..
another tiger.. enjoing the shade
cheetah.. staring right back
(the white blur is due to the fence)
haathi mere saathi
Location: Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Vizag, AP.
I have moved to Vizag (a city located on the East coast in South India) recently. You shall see more of this gorgeous city in the future posts.

crops on a hill
crop and water
with the hills in the background
a spider web
water droplets on the plants
(click on the picture to have a better view)
in circles..
a different view
steps
the stair-case
the scenery..
green grass, white leaves and water in the background
long time no c..
i haven't taken any photos recently.. and so decided to go out and search for something nice to click at, and stumbled upon this farm being cultivated on the hills.
there was a small waterfall and the land along its path was being cultivated by dividing it into steps and making provision so that the water gets distributed automatically.
it rained yesterday and this made it look beautiful than usual.
Location: Hills on the border of Andhra and Orissa, near Saluru.

Vizag 4 u.. President's Fleet Review

people everywhere

one of the large ships on display

this was a demonstration of a bomber (i suppose) destoying an enemy ship.. the smoke had a nice halo at the top

the only ship that was visible clearly :(

another boat speeding by

a helicopter carrying commandos

close-up

flying right above us

commandos on boat and a submarine in the background

a ship and a sub

a tricoloured kite.. flying high

there were people perched on all the buildings around

that's the famous hill.. referred to as the "dolphin's nose"

the crowd.. some enjoing a dip

ships decorated with lights along their contour

close-up

few men watching the fireworks
its good to see people coming out with the Indian flag for such occasions

it was a full moon day

Location: RK Beach, Vizag
Occasion: Celebration of President's Fleet Review 2006 (website - http://www.pfr2006.nic.in/) at the Eastern Naval Command
PS: There was lot of firework in the night including a missile launch and rockets fired from the ships simultaneously, but I couldn't capture those and thought it wise to enjoy the sight than trying to capture something out of it. You can check out some nice pictures and the news from the articles at The Hindu and centralchronicle.com
